Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program
The WIOA Dislocated Worker program is a re-employment and training program designed to assist dislocated workers, other adults and youth in Brown County to enter into high-demand occupations and gain livable wages within their geographical areas.
You may be eligible if:
You have been permanently laid off from your employment.
You are unemployed or underemployed with additional barriers to employment. Income guidelines may apply.
You are 14-24 years old and have barriers to education and employment. Income guidelines apply.
CORE and INTENSIVE SERVICES include:
Assistance in job search and job placement
Assessment of skills and barriers to employment
Labor market and career information
Skill enhancing workshops
Referrals to community resources
These services are provided through the Job Center Resource Room or one-on-one with a WIOA Career Services Specialist.
Training services may be available to individuals who are determined eligible and do not secure employment through Core and Intensive services (listed above). Documentation of a good faith job search is required. Financial assistance may be provided for tuition, books and other support services depending on eligibility and need.
You must participate in a training program that has been determined to be a high-demand occupation by the Bay Area Workforce Development Board. For more information, visit the Brown County Job Center at 701 Cherry Street, Green Bay. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:45am - 4:30pm.
The WIOA Dislocated Worker Program is sponsored by your local Job Center and funded by the Bay Area Workforce Development Board.
