Who We Are
988 Wisconsin Lifeline is a National Suicide Prevention Lifeline call center serving all of Wisconsin. Callers who are suicidal or in emotional distress can call, text, or chat for free and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Who We Help
988 Wisconsin Lifeline is here to help Wisconsin residents through any kind of emotional distress. Everything from suicidal thoughts to everyday stressors. “Crisis” means something different to everyone, and we are here to help through it all.
- First, you’ll get an automated message featuring additional options for language, veterans, and LGBTQIA+ support. You will then be connected to Wisconsin’s 988 contact center. If you are calling, you will hear music while we connect you to a counselor.
- A trained counselor will answer your call, text, or chat. They will empathetically listen to you, provide support, and offer resources for your situation.
- You will be given the option to have a counselor follow up with you after your initial contact. We will check in on how you’re feeling and make sure you are set up to move forward.
